Retina displays is a screen type capable of high resolution imagery promoted by iPhone, iPad, iPad Air, iPod Touch, iPad Mini, and MacBook Pro made by Apple. Retina display or the Retina HD display that is expected with much talked about iPhone 6 are brand manes for Apple and their devices are now capable of high resolution displays due to higher pixel density. Each devise is held differently and most of the smaller devices require higher pixel count to make high resolution display. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are expected to carry even more pixels, 401 PPI compared to 326 PPI or less for others, making them HD displays hence tagged “Retina HD Display.”
High resolution imagery may not work for the Web. It created slow-loading pages that everybody hates because retina display uses four times more pixels compared to conventional displays. Also, the ever increasing mobile devices that will be more difficult to handle larger amounts of data needed for high resolution imagery. Also, data usage cost more for users. The answer to these issues came from Apple and it manages to cramp more pixels into product with Retina display.
