Ted Dhanik is chief executive officer of engage: BDR, an online media company founded in 2007. As co-founder and president of the firm, he is responsible for managing sales and business development, strategic marketing, client relationship management, and content acquisition, leading a talented group of industry professionals out of the firm’s headquarters in West Hollywood, California. From 2003 to 2008, Dhanik was the vice president of strategic marketing for MySpace.com, where he worked to launch the brand in all major markets through the development of an integrated on- and off-line marketing strategy. While at MySpace, he also developed, produced and acquired content and promotion strategies. He also came up with several brands for the company, including the MySpace Celebrity brand.
Dhanik joined MySpace.com from LowerMyBills.com, where he was head of business development and responsible for developing and launching the company’s home equity product. While at LowerMyBills.com, he was also responsible for the growth of the LMB’s poorest performing product, reviving it from $2 million a year to more than $50 million in the first year. He worked for LMB nearly five years before leaving to MySpace.
Dhanik also was head of business development for Nextag.com, where he managed scaling the firm’s tech and non-tech lead generation programs. Prior to Nextag.com, he worked for Xoriant Corporation as was the director of sales for Atesto Technologies.
He serves on the boards of Fighter, LottoGopher, and Schizo Pictures. He is also an involved advisor to Start Engine, a Los-Angeles-based startup. He attended California State University at Hayward, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
